Westbury Appeal Allowed

LVA have received the Planning Inspectorate’s decision to allow its outline planning application for up to 145 dwellings on land at Glenmore Farm, Westbury, Wiltshire.

The appeal was allowed on the basis that Wiltshire Council are not currently able to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply, which now stands at just over 2 years. The Inspector assigned significant weight to the delivery of open market and 40% affordable housing, and limited weight to conflict with the existing development plan given the settlement strategy and limits of development are not working effectively. Wiltshire Council recognised this fact, and did not seek to defend the appeal at the hearing held in late 2024.

We look forward to working with the landowners in selecting a suitable developer to take forward the outline planning permission and deliver the much-needed housing that is required in the area.
